PETCOM and NSWMA Investigations

The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) concluded its Special Investigations into the procurement practices of the Petroleum Company of Jamaica (PETCOM) and the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) in December 2007.

Pursuant to Section 28(2) of the Contractor General Act, copies of the Reports were conveyed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and to the President of the Senate, under cover of letters which were dated January 4, 2007.

The OCG was advised that the Reports were tabled in the House of Representatives on January 16, 2007 and in the Senate on January 19, 2007. In keeping with the powers which are reserved to the Contractor General under Section 28(4) of the Act, the OCG, in the public’s interest, has published the Reports.
